In the spirit of providing affordable fun for the kids the last few weeks of the summer perhaps you should follow my lead and buy a 9x12 foot inflatable pool from WalMart for $20. We just did this and now my kids can swim all day and have tons of fun without having to travel, spend money or deal with other peoples rules and issues.
In addition, last season we got a huge bouncy castle from WalMart at the end of the summer season for $20. Another toy that has lasted and is enjoyed regularly. we never lend it out without our presence thus avoiding unpleasant accidents or breakage.
