GUN-BALL BIG WINNER

Hey all, yesterday I went to Dorney Park with Camp Gan Israel. I got to walk around with my wife and two sons. Sometime during the day, as we passed the carnival games area, my attention was taken by an amazing prize: an Electric Guitar! I begged my wife to let me try but she reminded me of the impossibility of these games. They are rigged and require knowledge, skill and a lot of luck to win.

The game was GunBall. You received a gun loaded with a white plastic ball. The objective was to shoot this ball at a tower of three clear, heavy cups, knocking them all off the pedestal and onto the ground. It was $3 for one try, $5 for two tries and $10 for five. After many people lost their money I was reassured not to try it and went on my merry way.

Being that I had my trusty IPhone and my hotspot in my pocket I looked up this game on Google. All the articles indicated that a precise hit between the bottom two cups at their base would ensure success. I even attemped to watch a Youtube video depicting a winner but it did not load.

In exchange for an attempt, I was allowed to watch the next few dozen people try and fail at the game. I left with the satisfaction that I did not throw my money away.

But I returned.

I took out some cash from an ATM, told my wife I had to try because it was for a Guitar and walked right up to the game. She encouraged me to take two tries, that way I would know it was not me but the game that was the problem. I paid my $5 for two tires, took the gun in hand, went down on one knee, closed my left eye, aimed and fired as per the direction from Google. The ball ricocheted off the right cup, pushing it off the platform. The ball knocked away the left bottom cup and allowed the top cup to drop on its side and roll off the right side of the platform. I stood in a brief period of disbelief and remarked, "Excuse me, I think I just won". I did! I chose my prize, a blue and black Mahar electric Guitar!

What a win!
